Measures which has been presented by the government, C and L are sufficient to cover urgent needs, says the leader of the left party, Jonas Sjöstedt. According to him, the cuts are already waiting this year if nothing is done.
– There is a thunderous popular support to have reasonable working conditions and to have enough colleagues in health care and elderly care, then it also has to live up to it. If the government does not go to our meetings, we are prepared to talk to others, but we hope and believe that the government is listening, said Jonas Sjöstedt, the party leader of the Left Party during a press conference on Tuesday.
Jonas Sjöstedt specifically mentioned that the party will turn to moderate Democrats and Christians unless the government advises within a week.
– We are doing this because we take seriously the promise that will be made to the elderly and to those in the health sector: it will be better after the crisis.
KD: Welcome
Economist-political spokesman for Christian Democrats Jakob Forssmed says he appreciates the pressure on the government to raise money.
– Our opinion is that more money is needed for municipalities and regions to fulfill the wellness mission in 2020 and to prevent employees from being notified. We hope to have more resources.
In its economic spring motion, KD proposed an additional state subsidy of SEK 5 billion to municipalities, in addition to what the government proposed in its economic spring bill.
C: unnecessary
The center’s political-economic spokesman, Emil Källström, considers V’s move to bring more money to the municipalities unnecessary.
He sees “a very good opportunity” to find consensus among all parties on that issue.
– I think we can agree on additional supplements, says Källström.
According to him, there are good reasons to suppose that municipalities need more money.
– If I had to decide for myself, I probably would have expected more forecasts and tests to be able to say exactly what is needed, as well as for the current year and for next year, says Källström.
– Many parts are energetic and want to put this into practice as quickly as possible. It is clear that there are also benefits in this, the sooner the message arrives, the better for the municipal sector.
L: look closely
Liberal economic policy spokesman Mats Persson also welcomes the proposal if it can “find broad support for more money for municipalities.”
TT: Do you feel that municipalities already need more money this year?
– We look at it very closely now. We closely monitor how tax revenues develop in municipalities and regions, says Persson.
