LeBron James has been named NBA second most valuable players.
The 35-year-old had to settle for 16 of 101 votes.
– It bothered me. That’s my honest answer, says the Lakers star.
Milwaukee Bucks Greece’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, 25, received the remaining 85 votes and was named NBA MVP for the second year in a row.
The vote consists of 100 journalists and a “fan vote” and LeBron James expected a higher proportion of votes.
– That’s what pisses me off more than anything else. I’m not saying the winner doesn’t deserve to be named MVP, but it pissed me off. I’ve finished second many times in my career, both in the championship and now for the fourth time as an MVP, says James.

Antetokounmpo is only the third player in history to be named MVP and the league’s best defensive player that season, after Michael Jordan in 1988 and Hakeem Olajuwon in 1994.
– Giannis has had an incredible season, you can definitely say that, says James.
The statement comes after tonight’s first semi-final in the NBA, where LeBron James took another step toward his fourth championship title. His Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 126-114.
