Tishko Ahmed was ushered into the courtroom by two guards. He sits down and puts a piece of paper in front of him that he writes on while the lawyers talk. He has previously said that he has prepared a speech that he will give later in the day.
After the lawyers have spoken, it is time.
– There is not a drop of blood on my hands. He loved Wilma more than life. Her well-being has been my motivation since I met her. Your happiness my bread and water, he says.
He regrets that he was not allowed to speak for half an hour and continues to discuss the tests.
– If I had admitted and invented a course of facts, you would not have believed me. The truth cannot be refuted. Truth: I am not a murderer, I am not an oppressive woman. They have to paint me black, says Tishko Ahmed.
– You have no idea what it feels like to be half of a whole. You have no idea what it feels like to be hated by strangers for something you could never do.
– It was not me and they will absolve me, he says.
Attorney Peter Olsson opened the final argument by challenging the district court’s life sentence.
– The starting point of the murder is the 14-year prison, he says and emphasizes that Tishko Ahmed has not been punished before and that there has been no planning.
During his part of the closing statement Attorney Beatrice Rämsell repeated what she had said earlier: that the evidence is not strong enough to be able to say that it is a murder case.
– Only with the help of this part of the body the forensic doctor will not be able to say how Wilma died. The prosecutor does not know how he died. Is she stabbed to death? Is it triggered? Is she strangled? Is it poisoned? We can’t say that either, because what remains of Wilma does not give information on that point, she says and refers to the part of the body that was found in Tishko Ahmed’s house.
According to her, the body part may not even have been in the apartment when the boyfriend was arrested, and she comments that it was two weeks before it was found.
He also handled the investigation of the crime scene inside the apartment. According to her, the amount of blood does not indicate that it is the scene of a crime.
What dead dogs that have been inside in the house he has not previously indicated that there was a part of the body in the house, he says it is strange.
– We have question marks here that I can’t clarify, she says.
It also says that investigators have not seriously examined other possible perpetrators in Wilma’s case.
– We want you to consider another circumstance: could it be that you were locked into a hypothesis too early in this investigation?
Throughout the trial, Tishko Ahmed has denied the allegations.
Last monday was Day of the Prosecution, where the focus was on the evidence indicating that Wilma Andersson was murdered in the couple’s joint home.
The prosecutor also noted that there is DNA evidence that Tishko Ahmed has at least been in her place and is said to have wrapped the part of Wilma Andersson’s body that was found wrapped in aluminum foil.
– Nothing new has emerged in these negotiations and that makes things easier for both us and the Court of Appeals, prosecutor Jim Westerberg told DN, the day before the last day of the trial.
Therefore, Westerberg argued, the Court of Appeal should uphold the life sentence of the Uddevalla District Court.
