The latest act of violence occurred on Thursday of last week. A 19-year-old man connected to the Husby network was shot in the late afternoon in a residential area of Husby. The alleged shooter was seen fleeing the scene on a moped.

The murder is one in a row that police link to the conflict between the Husby network and another network in Rinkeby, according to information from Expressen.

Four murders in a spiral of revenge

This summer’s great violence between the two gangs has its roots in a fatal assault in early July. A seriously injured man in his 20s was found unconscious outside in Tensta in the middle of the night. The man was taken to hospital but was so ill that he died a few days later.

Since then, there have been three more killings, which police believe have led to the spiral of revenge that has caused the current gang conflict.

The fatal shooting in Husby last week is the fourth murder.

According to Expressen, the network in Rinkeby will currently have a lot of money. Police suspect the gang used part of their funds to buy information about their rivals.

Special effort

Due to the violent incident, a police operation targeting gangs is underway in the Rinkeby-Kista district.

The objective of the operation, which takes place within the framework of a special event called Portia, is to stop the violence, prevent new acts and solve the serious crimes of the summer.

Drugs are central to the Husby Network and several of the leaders have been sentenced to prison for serious drug-related offenses.

The 19-year-old who was shot and killed had previously been convicted of violent resistance, two-time misdemeanor drug offenses and weapons offenses, after police detained him when he was armed with a loaded pistol.
