The spread of the coronavirus continues to increase in Denmark. In the last 24 hours, the country has registered 589 new cases of infection. That’s more than a hundred more than the previous highest number, reports TV2.
On Friday, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that the strictest restrictions, previously only applied to the Copenhagen area, will be nationwide starting Saturday at 12 noon.
Focus on youth
The parochial closure is reduced from 500 to 50 people and bars and restaurants must close at 10 p.m., and those who visit restaurants and bars must wear a mouth guard.
Denmark now has 40 infected per 100,000 inhabitants. According to the latest figures, each affected person infects an average of 1.5 others with the coronavirus.
In recent weeks, Denmark has paid great attention to the spread among young people. 14 percent of those newly admitted with covid-19 to hospitals are under the age of 30.
Several restrictions have been introduced in Copenhagen, such as a ban on spending the night in places where young people gather.
