A major outbreak of the coronavirus has occurred in a nursing home in Storuman Township. The care association now requires the municipality to activate a crisis situation agreement, Ekot reports on Swedish radio.
– We do not see other possibilities than the crisis situation agreement, because right now there is a crisis in Storuman, says Jenny Olsson, president of the Health Association in Västerbotten, on the radio.
During the fall, a nursing home was badly affected and 30 of the 44 residents fell ill with Covid-19, of which 6 people died. According to Vårdförbundet, 25 employees of the accommodation have also been confirmed to be infected.
According to Ekot, Storuman stands out in terms of the 93 municipalities that last week had confirmed or suspected COVID-19 in their nursing homes.
The crisis settlement means that work hours can be extended to 48 hours a week for higher compensation. But according to the social director of the municipality, this is not the case because internal resources have not yet been exhausted.
