Dejan Kulusevski will not join the national team on Monday.

Juventus players are in quarantine and therefore cannot leave Italy.

Sebastian Andersson has also resigned from the collection.

Three games await Sweden in a week. First the training match against Russia on Thursday, then the Nations League matches against Croatia and Portugal.

During Monday’s press conference, Janne Andersson announced that Sebastian Andersson had been forced to resign.

– He had problems with his knee last collection and has been a problem ever since. He has played, but now he has stopped so he has resigned, says the league captain.

“Keeps us informed”

Another player who will not attend the national team match on Monday is Dejan Kulusevski. Juventus players are in quarantine until Wednesday and therefore will not go to Russia.

– They let us talk yesterday. They (Juventus players) cannot travel from that region. It is the local authorities who say no, because then they break a rule. Sportingly, neither the (Italian) federation nor Juventus say no, but it is the region. He didn’t know much himself, but they told him they couldn’t leave and that if they risk leaving, you could be personally punished, says national team coach Stefan Pettersson.

The Juventus pro is likely to be allowed to join the Swedish national team in Zagreb on Saturday before the meeting with Croatia on Sunday.

According to the leadership of the national team, Dejan Kulusevski is healthy and not affected by Covid-19.

It is already clear that Ludwig Augustinsson will not go to Russia on Wednesday because Werder Bremen does not allow it. He will not play against Portugal either.

– The authorities in the Bremen region have said that if you go to a red country, you must be quarantined for five days when you get home and Russia and Portugal are those countries, but not the Zagreb region, says Andersson.

“A little worried”

Emil Forsberg tells Expressen that he is not sure about going to Russia either, but that at the moment the national team has not received any more offers.

Mikael Lustig was injured yesterday against Östersund, but according to the captain of the national team, there should be no major danger. However, Janne Andersson is concerned about the difficult pairing of some players lately.

– I’m a little bit worried. All the games are important and the players who play all the time basically fall, but the bodies wear out a lot, so I can be a little worried about some of our players. But at the same time, I hope the clubs listen to the players and give them a break when possible, he says.
