He stopped in two consecutive defeats for the top team Kopparbergs / Göteborg.
At home against Eskilstuna, they finally won again.
– We needed it, says midfield star Julia Zigiotti Olme.
After two defeats in a row, Kopparbergs / Göteborg are back on the winning track.
The image of the home game against Eskilstuna looked like the last time against Kristianstad (loss 0-1). Great ball possession and many chances.
But with a ball over the goal line and a penalty missed by Natalia Kuikka early in the match, it seemed at first that Gothenburg was ruined to turn their chances into goals.
The nervousness that comes into play perhaps?
– Personally, I didn’t have that feeling. I know what we can do, so keep doing what we do. In the end, the goals will come, says Julia Zigiotti Olme.
Gothenburg plug
And yes, in the end the goals came.
Finnish Emma Koivisto advanced on the right wing, as usual, and scored very well 1-0.
Redeemer for the home team that not only lost their last two games, but were also goalless in both losses.
After the goal, it was like someone snapping their fingers and Gothenburg suddenly seemed more relaxed.
– Yes, I think we have total control of the whole game. “We found good surfaces and got a lot of good scoring chances,” says Zigiotti Olme.
Push Rosengård to the top
Kuikka took her revenge and made it 2-0, before team shooting queen Pauline Hammarlund made it 3-0, which was also the end result.
The team thus rises by the same points as league leader Rosengård, but with one more game played.
For Gothenburgers, the focus is now on the rest of the series, in order to regain its lost leadership in the series.
– We will invest in doing what we can. It depends a bit on what they do too, but we’re only trying to take one game at a time and influence what we can, says Zigiotti Olme, adding:
– So only one team can make sure to beat them.
For Eskilstuna, this is the third loss in a row, and the team remains in ninth place, four points behind Uppsala in the relegation zone.
