Former great Dutch player Ronald Koeman, now the captain of the Dutch national team, is in hospital. Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that the 57-year-old federal captain was taken to the hospital, by ambulance from his home, with heart problems, but that the situation is now under control.

Koeman’s partner Bartina, according to the newspaper, confirmed that the situation with Koeman is stable after a surgical procedure. De Telegraaf also writes that the federal captain will likely leave the hospital on Monday.

In 2018 Koeman took over as national team captain for the Dutch national team. Previously, as a coach, he has based, among others, Everton, Southampton, Feyenoord, Ajax and Valencia. The 57-year-old belonged, as players, to clubs like Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord and Barcelona.
