When Karolin Eriksson reached the pasture at her home in Strängnäs, she found a broken fence and a lost cow.
For ten days Karolin was looking for her high-ranking cow Elvira. But just as the jump began to end, she appeared, with her new calf.
“I was almost crying,” says Karolin.
It was on the night of May 1 that Karolin Eriksson discovered that her Elvira mountain cow had taken the liberty of leaving the pasture on the Starrkärr farm in Strängnäs.
– The fence was knocked down. All the cows were home except Elvira, says Karolin Eriksson, who lives on the farm with her mother Jane Eriksson.
The search for Elvira began. She usually wants to leave the grass when she is about to give birth, and she was pregnant now.
– But then she is usually somewhere in the yard. Now she was completely gone.
Strengnäs Tidning has written about how Karolin helped nine dogs, drones, and neighbors in their search for Elvira.
– But no one had seen her. I even posted a post on Facebook. I thought someone must know where Elvira was.

“She is very special to me”
The days passed and Karolin Eriksson began to lose hope of seeing her mountain cow again.
– She is very special to me, says Karolin.
She has been caring for Elvira since she was only one week old.
– I’ve been feeding her, bottle feeding her.
On Monday, after Elvira was on vacation for ten days, Karolin received a text message from her neighbor.
– It was a photo of Elvira and a baby in the neighbor’s garden. Totally awesome! Karolin Eriksson says.

The calf was in a bad mood and curious.
Karolin went to the neighbor’s garden and rightly so, there was Elvira, with her calf.
– She was a little funny, but when she saw me she calmed down.
The little calf was only a few days old, but he had already tried everything new to discover.
– The calf was very nervous and curious. He looked behind the mother, says Karolin Eriksson.
Now everyone is home on the Starrkärr farm again. If Elvira with her calf managed to stay hidden, Karolin has no idea. But somewhere out in the open. And speaking of which, the calf now has his name.
– Fits well with Wild. Because she was born in nature
