Isak Magnusson’s 2-0 was decisive against IFK Gothenburg.
GOTHENBURG. The winner of Kalmar’s match against IFK Gothenburg?
A goalkeeper from Hisingen and a striker who scores in Gamla Ullevi.
– It was an extremely important victory, says Isak Magnusson, 22 years old.
Kalmar FF, in a vulnerable position as a jumbo table before kick-off against IFK Gothenburg, received help from the home team with the important victory at Gamla Ullevi.
Blåvitt’s Christian Kouakou nodded to make it 1-0 for the guests at his own goal following a Sebastian Ring corner kick in the 40th minute.
In the second half, Isak Magnusson rose to 2-0 on a counter attack in the 65th minute.
– There were some duels, then the ball came to me. It was a great surface to run on, they backed up a lot and I was just shooting. The ball hit one of the midfielders going in, says Magnusson, who answered for his first Allsvenskan goal in the same arena, against the same opposition in Kalmar’s 3-1 win in 2018.
– I feel pretty good here, says the Kalmar attacker.
From third goalkeeper to starter
At the rear, Ole Söderberg again blocked between the posts before an IFK from Gothenburg unleashed.
For the Kalmar goalkeeper, the victory was emotional.
– It’s a little personal derby for me to win against IFK Gothenburg because I come from Hisingen and Häcken. It was a lot of fun, says Söderberg.

Hisingen’s Ole Söderberg won against his rival Blåvitt.
The goalkeeper was called up this summer as the third goalkeeper, he trained one session with team A and another as goalkeeper coach for the U19 team of Kalmar FF.
The last competitive match was for AFC Eskilstuna in September last year.
– I had taken a break. I didn’t know it would feel so good to start playing again.
“Let’s see what happens”
When Lucas Hägg-Johansson was injured and Tobias Andersson conceded seven goals in two games, Söderberg suddenly had a chance against Helsingborg on the road.
What does the future hold?
– I drive as long as they want to play with me. The contract is valid for the rest of the season, then we’ll see what happens, says the goalkeeper.
The 2-1 victory led Kalmar FF to qualification.
– We have a very good chance of staying. We show that we are a good team. Now it’s just to continue on this track, says Isak Magnusson.
