After a good dividend in fixed situations, Kalmar won the first qualifying match for the Allsvenskan against Jönköping 3-1.

Jönköping therefore needed to score three goals when the teams collided at Guldfågeln Arena on Sunday, but it was Kalmar who created the best chances.

Filip Sachpekidis came close to putting the visitors one up in the 80th minute, when he escaped just down the middle, but Nils Fröling managed to deflect the ball for a corner kick.

Kalmar remains in the Allsvenskan after qualifying

Shortly after Kalmar’s goal, Jönköping had a chance from the penalty spot, but goalkeeper Lucas Hägg Johansson lunged in the right direction and saved Amir Al-Ammari’s penalty. The save meant that Kalmar won the match 1-0 and the team won the tie with a total of 4-1.

– It is a difficult game to play and Kalmar has an outcome to play. We don’t get into that goal that can shake Kalmar a bit psychologically, says Jönköping’s team captain Fredric Fendrich on Dplay after the match.

– Of course you’re happy. You are relieved and happy. Now everything is fine. We were calculated, but we got up at nine, says Erik Israelsson on Dplay.

The 1-0 win in the final game of the season was also the victory that ended a long and gloomy suite for Kalmar, who had not won at home at the Guldfågeln arena since defeating Helsingborg 1-0. on May 11, 2019.

Only Helsingborg was defeated at the home premiere over the summer, but that match was played at Fredrikskans.
