There have been strict rules before junior WC in ice hockey. The players and leaders were quarantined before the tournament and had to take several negative corona tests before they could board the plane to Canada.
Once there, the players and leaders have not been able to leave their hotel rooms for the first few days. However, this broke the team manager of the team, Jonas Fransson, and thus he is now being sent home from Canada.
– We have been informed that Juniorkronorna’s Team Manager violated the tournament’s quarantine rules when he left the hotel to return to the airport to collect his forgotten luggage. According to the regulations that apply, we see no possibility of influencing that decision, says the general secretary of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, Johan Stark, in a press release, continuing:
– Obviously it feels boring considering the already limited administrative staff we have in Canada. At the same time, I have a lot of confidence in the leaders who are in place and in a good mood. Our focus now is to support the team and we will add additional resources from home to complement the team manager role.
The governing body of the national team is already much smaller than normal, as no less than four leaders (including the captain of the national team, Tomas Montén) tested positive before departure and were forced to stay at home.
As the manager of the national ice hockey team, you are responsible for much of the practical and administrative work on the national team.
