British journalist and author Robert Fisk has died. Stock Photography.
Fisk, who was living in Dublin at the time of his death, reported during his career on, among other things, the Israeli and Syrian invasions of Lebanon, the Afghan-Soviet War, the Bosnian War, the Kuwait War, the War of Kosovo and the Iraq war.
He began his career at the British The Times, for which he reported from Northern Ireland and later from the Middle East, but left the newspaper for the same job on behalf of The Independents.
Robert Fisk also interviewed Osama bin Laden three times during the 1990s.
Fisk was also the author and wrote the book “The Great War for Humanity: The Battle for the Middle East” in 2007.
In 2005, the New York Times described him as “probably Britain’s best-known foreign correspondent.”
