The murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi has been investigated by both the UN and the CIA.
A UN report revealed that he was strangled and dismembered. The report also noted that the assassination was ordered by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, who has denied any involvement.
There is still a lot of secrecy surrounding the case. And now Khashoggi’s fiancee is calling for the CIA classified report to be made public.
Appeals for help
In an interview with The Guardian, Hatice Cengiz says that US President-elect Joe Biden should demand that the report be made public when he enters the White House.
– I ask the President to publish the CIA assessment and his evidence. It will help to reveal the truth about who is responsible for Jamal’s murder, he tells the newspaper.
Biden has said during his campaign that he wants Saudi Arabia to account for the murder.
“We know there is work to be done, including assistance with the necessary transparency,” a source close to the Democrat told The Guardian.
