Jonathan Hellvig and David Åhman have been included in the history books.
The 18-year-olds are the first Swedish team to win a World Tour competition in beach volleyball.
“We just feel joy, pure and simple joy!” The duo say in a press release.
Although the Hellvig / Åhman company lost the first set against local jumpers Arnaud Gauthier-Rat and Quincy Aye, they were the winners at French Montpellier.
The Swedish duo took home the second set with four points and were able to win safely in the refereeing set. The victory numbers were written in 18-21, 21-17, 15-9.
“It feels incredibly good and very good that we can play at this level. We have never met such a good team and we have never played as well as these days before. We showed that we can take on the great dragons,” says Hellvig / Åhman.

Federation captain Rasmus Jonsson believes it is proof that Swedish beach volleyball is on the rise, really.
“We want to attack the second ball as much as possible. We are the only ones in the world who build our entire game that way, and it requires a very good technical execution. We are the first and the best in the world at that. We believe we can revolutionize the game. beach volleyball, ”he says.
Jonathan Hellvig and David Åhman are two big names in the future of Swedish sport. In addition to the historic victory on the tour, they have won gold at the U18 European Championship, gold at the Youth Olympic Games and have also received Little Achievement Gold.
