Three years ago, Johan Olsson announced that he was finishing his career, which included both the World Cup and Olympic gold.
However, for two seasons, Olsson has remained on the national team as a coach and consultant, but in April the 40-year-old man told Aftonbladet that there was no dialogue with the union about a continuation.
“No one has heard from me,” Olsson told the newspaper.
Now Johan Olsson for SVT confirms that he will not remain in the role of the national team.
“I will have nothing to do with the Swedish national team,” Olsson told SVT.

Again, his image is that the union contact was non-existent. Olsson says he had a minor consultant role last season, and therefore understands in part whether “there is a bit between the presidents.”
– But at the same time, I think it’s a bit remarkable that you don’t record an evaluation with someone who has worked quite close to the A-national team, he tells SVT.
National team manager Anders Byström, recently recruited from the biathlon team, does not share Olsson’s image of their dialogue.
– We have spoken here this week lately, we have had some contact by phone and sms. We talked a little bit about how you had last year. Both myself and Daniel (the manager of the national team Fåhraeus) were late in this process, so it is possible that someone has spoken to him before, Byström tells SVT.
