Henrik Lundqvist needs surgery for a serious heart defect.

Now twin brother Joel talks about feelings.

– These are difficult weeks and it will be difficult in the future, he tells TT.

Last week, Swedish NHL star Henrik Lundqvist said he had to suspend his hockey career due to a heart defect that required surgery.

“We have all our mountains to climb. I stay positive and focus on the road to recovery. “he wrote in a statement.

The 38-year-old had left the New York Rangers, the club to which he belonged for 15 years, earlier this winter for the team from the capital, Washington Capitals. But now the focus is on more than just hockey.

“Many feelings”

On Wednesday night, twin brother Joel Lundqvist shared his feelings on the whole matter. After Frölunda’s 4-1 win against HV71, he told TT that Henke’s heart problem meant a difficult time for the whole family.

– These are difficult weeks and will be difficult in the future. This is how it is. There is a lot of emotion involved, of course, he says.

When asked if he has a problem with his heart himself, Joel gives a reassuring message.

– I can tell I keep track of my stuff and it looks good. That’s enough. I don’t want to stay here and talk about the medical more than that everything looks good, he says.
