It was in November 2017 that Johan Eriksson, 54, of Mora, and his car-building team displayed a self-made Dodge Charger RTR 68 at the Sema show in Las Vegas.
They were then invited to participate in Jay Leno’s television show about cars.
– He is a legend in the car hobby and he has many cars himself. Getting to his garage in Burbank, Los Angeles, was a dream in itself, says Johan.
After the show was taped, Johan went out to look at his car and then an unknown man stopped and looked up at the open hood.
“He said he was a politician”
– There were four men in suits around an old man with white hair who was looking at the car. I wondered what it was and asked the man what he thought of the car. Then he said he had never seen anything like it.
Then Johan didn’t know who Joe Biden was and asked him what he was working on.
– He said he was a politician and I thought he must be famous. Then we started talking about cars and he asked me as much as possible. It was noted that it was familiar, says Johan.

Spoke for half an hour
– Joe Biden also said that his deceased son also had an interest in cars and that the two had shared it together.
They were talking for over half an hour before Jay Leno arrived and wanted to pick up Joe Biden to film another episode of the car show.
– But I didn’t want to go, so we talked a little more. He was a wonderful old man and he also liked rock’n’roll. I played a little AC / DC and he liked it. He was interested, humble and personable, says Johan.
“Very funny and impressive”
On Saturday, Joe Biden was elected the 46th president of the United States and believes that Johan has had a president in his car.
– Now later you know that he is the president of the United States and is very funny and cool, says Johan Eriksson.
