Artist Joakim Andrén is dead, his family claims on Instagram.
He recently died in a “tragic accident” and turned 34.
“We have the difficult task of having to report that our beloved son and brother Joakim has recently passed away in a tragic accident,” the family wrote in a statement on the artist’s Instagram account.
Together with his friend and colleague Viktor Norén, Joakim Andrén formed the musical group “State of Sound”. The duo have had hits on songs like “Heaven,” “Higher love,” and “Wake up where you are,” which has nearly 100 million shows on Spotify.
The song was a great success both in Sweden and internationally.
“State of Sound” was founded in 2016, but Andrén and Norén already met in 2010.
– The driving force was that we thought it was fun and so we let it develop for a long time. We found our soundscape, Viktor Norén and Joakim Andrén said in an interview with Swedish Radio 2017.
The last song on “State of sounds” was released in 2018, and the band performed during their activity at, among others, Summerburst.
Family and friends cry
Joakim Andrén also worked as a music producer and composer, and over the years he has collaborated with Oscar Zia, Eric Saade, and Andreas Kleerup, among others.
The family asks everyone to cry in peace and quiet.
Due to the current situation with the pandemic, about 20 people will attend the funeral.
Several friends and fans have expressed their support in comments on Instagram.
“So incredibly sad. All the love to you Rest in peace“Writes artist Linnea Henriksson.
Artist and composer John Lundvik writes:
“My God … Jocke, my brother … is this true?“
Former contributor Oscar Zia comments on the obituary by writing Three Hearts.
