Earlier today, the leader of the group of Swedish Democrats in Haninge, Dennis Askling, dropped all political assignments after speaking out racist in hidden talk. Revealed Express on Tuesday.
Askling is the latest in a long line of people who have had to leave the party in recent years, but Jimmie Åkesson doesn’t think the Swedish Democrats stand out compared to other parties in terms of exclusion issues.
– This affects all parties in one way or another, he says and adds that there are people with “extremist leanings” in various parties.
When asked why the Swedish Democrats did not discover it themselves, but are journalists, he responds:
– As a group leader, I cannot search through members’ private chats.
Åkesson, however, says he’s happy with the reveal.
– I’m very happy. This is not the first time I have thanked Expressen. Otherwise, we would never have found out, he says.
