Nike Nylander has received serious threats following an interview with Jimmie Åkesson.
“Imbeciles without empathy” writes the SD leader about those who threatened Aktuellt’s host and his children.

The leader of the Swedish Democratic party, Jimmie Åkesson, coughed and snorted during the first autumn debate in the Riksdag.
C-top and physician Anders W Jonsson thundered that Åkesson “spreads the virus like a spray bottle in the chamber.” In Aftonbladet and other media, Jimmie Åkesson replied that he had previously had a fever but had not had a fever for two days, and followed the recommendations of the Swedish Public Health Agency.

Nike Nylander says that she is always prepared for reactions to her interviews, but that this was worse than she had previously experienced.

The director of Aktuellt writes in her post that she is behind the questions Jimmie Åkesson was asked on Tuesday.
– We considered the questions to be relevant from a journalistic point of view, so of course you can have opinions about the decisions we make. We also asked about the return policy and the relationship with the moderates and the Christian Democrats, but these people who are angry did not want to hear that. You have complete freedom to think these were the wrong questions, but that doesn’t justify jumping on me as an individual journalist in this way, says Nike Nylander.

On Saturday morning, the SD leader wrote the following about the death threats, on his social media:
“I understand that you can be upset and angry when you think that state television is focusing on trivia while the country is on fire. The SVT presenter appreciates Åkesson’s statement.
