The German professional has damaged the cruciate ligament, writes Aftonbladet.

Erlangen’s left-back was injured in training a couple of weeks ago. He does not need surgery, but he intends to return to action when the Bundesliga restarts in February after the World Cup.
– I sprained my knee and it turned out to be a small posterior cruciate ligament injury, he says.
In the last two championships, Sweden have had Kim Ekdahl Du Rietz, Lukas Nilsson and Simon Jeppsson in the left nine, now none of them are included. Du Rietz has stopped playing handball and Nilsson has rejected World Cup matches.
Simon Jeppsson was selected from the raw squad that showed up in early December, but has not had a designated spot on the national team in recent championships.
Goalkeeper Mikael Appelgren is already out of the World Cup with a long-term injury.
