Jasmina’s mother: “She is still alive”

There is still a mystery about how 6-year-old Jasmina Jasharaj disappeared from the Hägnen area in Sävsjö municipality in 1997.

The Jasmine Case becomes a new book

For many years, Jasmina’s parents have been looking for her in hopes of knowing what happened to their daughter. Father Rexhep Jasharaj whom SVT previously interviewed about the Jasmina case died of cancer in 2017, not knowing what happened to his daughter.

– Before he died, he encouraged me to keep writing a book about Jasmina and keep fighting, says Florije Jasharaj.

“I can’t give up”

On December 1, a book is released that Florije Jasharaj describes as his dream, a book about how his life was affected by the disappearance of Jasmina. It was written together with the author Assar Andersson. And the reason is that Florije Jasharaj wants her family history and the Jasmina case to survive in the event that she dies.

– This book is about how things were for me in life after Jasmina disappeared, he says.

Writing a book about this that happened so long ago, isn’t it just re-breaking old wounds?

– I don’t think so, this book can make someone say something that helps me understand Jasmina’s disappearance. I can’t give up, I have to keep fighting. I hope something new comes out after the book is released, he says.

Florije Jasharaj believes that Jasmina is alive, see more about this in the clip above.
