Järlåsabo put up his own road signs: “Drive 40 pucko”

Highway 72 passes through Järlåsa and in the community the speed limit is 40 km / h. But few are keeping up speed, says Maria Berger, a Järlås resident. So he took matters into his own hands and painted signs with a speed limit reminder next to a painted disc bottle.

– People drive like idiots. I came one night when I couldn’t sleep this was a funny joke. Pucko starts out in Järlåsa and then turns into an inside joke.

He installed them on Monday and has seen several slow down and flagging.

– But I don’t really know if there is any difference. In that case, it’s probably a news feed.

It is illegal

Only the highway operator can post speed signs and it is illegal to post your own signs.

– You shouldn’t do that, even if it’s pure benevolence, says Lii Hylander, press communicator for the Swedish Transport Administration.

But Maria Berger takes it easy.

– You shouldn’t drive too fast either. If someone wants to fine me for putting up signs, I’ll take that slap. So I think they can also fine everyone who drives too fast.
