On Monday, the Swedish team meets in Copenhagen ahead of Wednesday’s training match against Denmark and the Nations League meetings with Croatia and France.
Now the national team must do without the captain of the national team, Janne Andersson, at least initially.
The league captain is in quarantine after a close family member tested positive for covid-19.
– Janne Andersson himself has tested negative, but if he has been infected it may take several days before a test is positive, therefore, it will be the home quarantine and a new test will be carried out at the end of next week, says the doctor of the national team Anders Valentin.
The league captain himself, who is also suspended in the Nations League meeting with Croatia on Saturday, has this to say about not being able to be with the team:
– Of course it is very sad, but it is only to accept the situation. Peter Wettergren assumes leadership in my absence; otherwise everything else remains the same. I will be available from home and have regular contact with Peter and other leaders, says Janne Andersson.
All Swedish players and leaders tested negative before the meeting.
