Janne Andersson pays tribute to Andreas Granqvist.
Team captain Andreas Granqvist, 35, is suffering injuries and has only played one match in the Allsvenskan.
But the confidence of the captain of the national team, Janne Andersson, is cemented.
– He has a unique ability to stand up and have the important skull when it comes, says Andersson, who has not appointed a permanent second captain.
Andreas Granqvist is Janne Andersson’s designated team captain and the midfielder has been of great importance to the success of the Swedish national team in recent years.
The move to Helsingborg and Superettan after WC 2018 did not stop Andreas Granqvist from performing at Blågult.
– “The Christmas tree” is for me a fantastic guy with a fantastic racing skull that he has shown over the years. When he came home to HIF and played for Superettan, he still joined the national team and had a fantastic fall in the Nations League, says Janne Andersson.

But the challenges have become more for the HIF hill. This season, his groin problems have meant only a beginning in the Allsvenskan and he misses Sweden’s international matches against France and Portugal.
But even though his career is coming to an end for the 35-year-old, he has the confidence of the league captain.
– “The Christmas tree” has the ability to lift and be good at this level, so it is with him as with other players that he must play and perform to be part of a national team. Therefore, it is unfortunate that you have these injuries. We can take it and see how the development is, I hope he comes back and plays several games, says Janne Andersson.
In the absence of Andreas Granqvist, the management of the national team has chosen to award different players the team captaincy. Among them are Albin Ekdal, Pontus Jansson and Sebastian Larsson, who will be responsible for France.
– I am very proud to have the honor of being the captain of the team. I feel like it’s an honorable assignment and something that you want to make sure is managed in the best way, says the midfielder.
Janne Andersson does not point out any mutual order between the captains of his substitute team:
– I have not chosen a second die, I don’t have to choose that, sorry. However, I have one, he says.
