There will be 5,000 homes where the jogging track is today. But how should it look? Lots of architecture studios will present this in the spring. This is what politicians want:
– It will be a green and sustainable district, but also very densely populated, says Sofia Hedén, (S), president of the city’s planning committee.
The jogging track, parking lot, stables and more will be transformed into a new district with space for 4,000 to 5,000 homes in various forms.
In two years, construction of the new Jägersros jogging track can be started, just east of the current one. And when the trot goes on, it also means that a new district can start to be built in the old Jägersro and the parking lot outside.
The builders are MKB, Tornet and Skanska they have merged into a new company.
The company that wants to do with the area are:
• 5,000 homes in single-family and multi-family homes,
• Office space for 1000 people
• Commerce, service, parking lots, schools, playgrounds.
They must also be sustainable properties, neighborhoods, close to both vegetation and nature and city life.
On Thursday, the city’s planning committee decided to start a planning program for the area. During the year, architecture studios will also receive so-called parallel assignments in the area.
– They mean that two or three architecture firms study the area and give their proposal on how it should be built, and then we work more on those proposals when we do the planning program, says Marcus Horning, director of planning for the city.
In relation to the joint program plan It began, politicians had to give their first entry.
– This is an area that is intended to be sustainable both environmentally and socially, down to the neighborhood level, says Sofia Hedén.
The opposition Center Party hopes that the focus will be on the district and not just on housing:
– It will be your own local community. Where you have everything you need. Since the area is not centrally located, there must be service. It could be a new center, where houses grow everywhere, says Martin Melin (C).
But it may take time, more precisely 25 years, according to the company’s calculations, before the area is completed.
