Jacob Nilsson decides for Färjestad against HV

There were two weak teams that met at Husqvarna Garden. Färjestad took a necessary 5-4 win against Linköping in the final race and for HV71 it was a 4-2 loss to Skellefteå.

The first period was eventful. The visiting team took an early 2-0 lead through Olle Lycksell and Martin Johansson. But HV played and reduced first through Linus Sandin before Christoffer Törngren made it 2-2.

– These are two sloppy targets that we let in. But I think it is strong that we return. Strong period of us, says Törngren in C plus.

The second period was marked by several hot scoring chances that the team took turns burning. Additionally, both Hugo Alnefelt and Arvid Holm played very well on their respective goals.

Önerud: “We have to fight for every point”

The third period also continued in the same direction. Goal opportunities in both directions but without effectiveness. It was 2-2 and the extension was a fact. Once there, it only took 19 seconds for FBK to make up its mind. Because then Jacob Nilsson went ahead and made it 3-2.

Therefore, HV71 continues to have a difficult time this season. In the last five games, there have been four losses. Also, they are still penultimate in the table.

– We have to fight for every point. I don’t see anything positive right now if I want to be completely honest. We have a lot of chances to make it 3-2 but we can’t do it with ourselves. We can’t blame anyone but ourselves. Now it is about creating even more situations and hopefully in the end it will be, says Simon Önerud.
