It did not diminish the severity of the crown at all.

With more than 200,000 deaths and almost seven million active cases of infection, the United States tops the list of the most affected countries in the world when it comes to covid-19. Throughout the pandemic, Trump’s political opponents have been critical of the president’s handling of it, which they say has been flawed.

“We have done a fantastic job and at a speed never seen before,” Trump said of handling the US crown as recently as last week.

On Tuesday, Trump had to answer questions from voters who did not share that opinion. One of the interrogators criticized the fact that Trump “downplayed a pandemic that was known to harm low-income families and minority communities,” ABC News reports.

– I did not reduce it, in fact I expanded it in many ways, in terms of action. I acted with great force, says Trump, who at the same time pointed to the travel restrictions that were imposed on China in February and March.

– Regardless of whether you call it “talent” or “luck”, it was very important. “We saved a lot of lives when we did that,” Trump continued.

Democrats: “failed leadership”

With the US presidential election two months away, the temperature between the incumbent president and the Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, has risen.

Biden has repeatedly criticized Trump’s handling of the corona virus, and most recently Trump responded by accusing Democrats of trying to use the corona pandemic to steal the election.

In early September, Biden’s presidential campaign spokesman Andrew Bates accused Trump’s “failed leadership” of exacerbating the crisis, in a statement to Fox News.
