The idols performed from their hotel rooms during the final on the first Friday after several of the contestants tested positive for corona.
Indra Elg, 17, was the first to leave the program and when the news came it was difficult to hold back tears.
Immediately after the vote was decided, the following setback came: she, too, had been infected with covid-19.
– I was pretty sure he had a crown even before the message. I felt quite sick when I was going to sing, but I felt like it was a mess to be standing when it was not confirmed, says Indra Elg.
Idols who have found corona have the opportunity to get a dispensation for one week and not participate in the competition. Something that Indra Elg believes he would have done had he received the message earlier in the day.
– At the same time, I was sure it would come out. If I hadn’t done it yesterday, I would have done it next week.
Waiting to go home
Despite the turbulent Friday night, Indra Elg is doing well.
– I don’t feel the crown so much now, before I had a sore throat and fever.
She still stays at the “Idol” hotel, waiting for a solution on how she can get home without infecting others.
– But I’m in no rush, I’ll have to self-quarantine at home anyway.
In an SMS to Expressen, Malin Knave, executive producer, confirms that Indra Elg has tested positive for corona.
“Therefore, isolating idols is important in this context, and we will continue to work with doctors to maintain clear routines and put health first.”, write in the text message.
Miss the final on Friday, now everyone will be evaluated.
