Instead, he has played golf and continues to tweet like crazy that an election victory has been stolen from him. Never before has a sitting president waged an open war against the right to vote and the legitimacy of elections.
But lying has also been Trump’s soul since the beginning of his political career. It started with him persistently claiming that Barack Obama’s birth certificate was false, that he was not born in the US state of Hawaii, according to Trump. The lie took hold of him and spread deep mistrust of Obama, his Democratic Party and the entire American political system.
And so it has continued.
