This year, the public health authority advises against being “naughty or sweet” with neighbors.
– It is now probably the case that Halloween and “trick and treating” should be practiced in the family circle this year, Anders Tegnell, a state epidemiologist with the Swedish Public Health Agency, said earlier this week.
One of the pranks some youngsters do during the ghost round is ovulation. In an attempt to stop egg throwers, who do not listen to the authorities’ advice this year, ICA Kvantum in Stenungsund has introduced an age limit for buying eggs, something NyheterSTO first reported on.
– We heard that it was a person from Orust who had laid a lot of eggs. We also know that it was young people who did this, says Ica-Handlare Robert Larsson.

Positive feedback
Therefore, one of the employees came up with the proposal to introduce a temporary age limit for buying eggs:
– We thought it was a very good idea, says Robert Larsson and says they saw another store introduced this recently after receiving an alarm about egg laying on properties and buses. However, you don’t know how this turned out:
– Sometimes it is important to act quickly.

On Saturday morning, the notes appeared at the Ica store in Stenungsund: “To avoid destruction over Halloween weekend, we have chosen to introduce a time limit of 18 years on all egg sales,” he says.
– I have spoken with those who work today and so far we have not received any negative reaction but only some who thought it was good.
Robert Larsson says he also received text messages praising the store’s initiatives, including from a police officer: “Good Robban initiative,” someone wrote.
“Great sin”
On Monday, it will probably be that everyone can buy eggs again:
– It is rare for young people under 18 to buy eggs, it probably has something to do with this weekend.
However, exceptions to the new age limit can be made this weekend:
– We have said that if we see that it is a young man who comes and does great business, they may buy for their parents, then we let it pass, says Robert Larsson.
What do you think of having to impose such a restriction?
– It is a pity that it is necessary. But I still think that if we have that opportunity, we will seize it. So we do it a little better, I think in the community.
He continues:
– Put eggs, I’ve had it before, it’s not fun. You should have fun, but not at someone else’s expense.
