MALMÖ. Malmö FF team captain Anders Christiansen last came out against Örebro.
That injury keeps him away in Sunday’s game against AIK.
– Not ready, says coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.
In Malmö’s 3-2 loss to Örebro on Thursday, Anders Christiansen was replaced after 20 minutes with a sensation in the calf. It means that tomorrow the game against AIK will be lost, and the forecast for the Europa League game against Honvéd next Thursday is uncertain.
– It’s better with “AC” but it’s not ready for tomorrow. We are waiting to say something about Thursday. I think he stopped playing in time, that’s my feeling. We have to wait for the next few days, says coach Jon Dahl Tomasson, adding that Bonke Innocent is slowly returning to the game.
Besides Christiansen, Felix Beijmo and Linus Borgström did not participate in today’s training. Beijmo is ill (does not crown) and misses the AIK meeting; Borgström will play a U19 match this afternoon. Goalkeeper Johan Dahlin joined Malmö’s squad for the first time in a month against Örebro. Games against AIK are not excluded, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.
– Johan has started a little after his overuse injury. Tomorrow’s games depend a bit on how you react today. He hasn’t been trained that much before.
