A ship with 20 passengers has disappeared somewhere between the Bahamas and US Florida, according to the US Coast Guard after days of unsuccessful search for the ship.
The ship was last seen on Monday when it set sail from the port of Bimini Island in the Bahamas. Just over 130 miles away, less than a day’s drive away, was the Lake Worth destination in Florida.
When the ship had not yet arrived Tuesday, the US Coast Guard was alerted and searched for the ship for several days.
A total of 44,000 square kilometers has been recorded, but no trace of the ship or its passengers has been seen. Over the weekend, the Coast Guard ended its search operation.
– Our thoughts are with the families of the missing, says Stephen Burdian, captain of the United States Coast Guard after the operation ended.
