Football should wait until September before resuming, according to FIFA’s medical director.
Gary Neville agrees with 100 percent.
– Football should not be played for months, he says, according to the Daily Mail.
FIFA medical director Michel D’Hooghe said Tuesday that football should not be played until at least September due to the current crisis. The Netherlands and Argentina have already established their stations, something France also did yesterday.
– The world is not ready for high level soccer. I hope this can change very quickly, I really hope so. But today we need more patience, said D’Hooghe, who was, however, excluded by Uefa medical director Tim Meyer.
In England, clubs are slated to return to normal training in early May, hoping that the Premier League can start in early June. Manchester United legend Gary Neville thinks it’s idiotic to try to get football back now, and he supports D’Hooghe 100 percent.
– He (D’Hooghe) has said that football should not be played until September. If this were not an economic decision, there would be no football in months, he says according to the Daily Mail and continues:
– People now face a risk. How many Premier League players must die before it gets nasty? A player? Or does someone on the staff need to be forced into intensive care? This discussion has to do with finances.
