House in the old town on fire

On Tuesday night, a small house behind Gamlestadshallen caught fire. The alarm went off shortly before 9 pm, initially as a fire on the ground.

The rescue service calls the house a summer cabin, but according to GP’s information, it must be a locker.

– I have heard the information but there is nothing I can confirm, says Bosse Florell, alarm and control operator at the Greater Gothenburg rescue service.

According to one reader, the house fire can be seen up to Guldheden.

– It’s overheated, says Daniel Svensmark, also an alarm and control operator.

Initially it was not clear if the house is inhabited. Subsequently, the police, who have contacted the owner of the house, state that this is not the case. No one was injured in the fire and, according to Daniel Svensmark, there was no risk of spreading to other properties.

At 9:50 p.m., the rescue service was still at the scene. Then no more open flames appeared according to the GP photographer.

– We will continue for another 45 minutes at another hour, says Bosse Florell then.

Police have produced a fire damage report.

Do you think it was designed?

– Yes, that is probably the working hypothesis that we have now in any case, says Andreas Odén, duty officer in the police.

Currently, the police have no suspects for the fire.
