Tenants in Kristinehamn and Arvika receive deferrals with rent increases due to the crown pandemic. “People are having enough fun anyway. It is not a place for a raise, “says Dan Linné, one of the two hosts in Kristinehamn who made this decision.
Dan Linné runs three real estate companies that together have about 700 apartments in Kristinehamn. In March, it made the decision not to start leasing negotiations with the Tenants Association and in April tenants were informed of this.
Linnaeus cannot say exactly how much loss of income is involved.
– The public utility here had an increase of around two percent, so it lies there.
A rent increase had been in effect since May 1.
When do you expect to start negotiations with the Tenants Association??
– A good question. We have to wait because today we don’t see where this is with the coronary taking the road.
The approximately 50 tenants of the family business AJ Gullbergs in Kristinehamn also get a break with the rent increase. The company had clearly negotiated with the Tenants Association and obtained an increase of between 1 and 1.9 percent since May 1. This means that the rent for a full-size three-room apartment would have increased by just over a hundred kroner.
Now the increase has been postponed until at least August.
– What happens next I can’t say. So much is happening now about the crown that I really don’t know how long this will last, says CEO Joacim Gullberg.
What was the reason for the decision?
– This is something that occurred to us within the family itself. Although not a large sum, we felt that we wanted to show some humanity.
The tenant association Henrik Woxlin negotiates rentals in Värmland. Not surprisingly positive about the decisions of the two hosts.
– Of course, it is good for tenants. And it would be fun if other companies took notice, especially train utilities like KBAB in Karlstad, says Henrik Woxlin.
According to Värmlands Folkblad (VF), which was the first with this news (article blocked), also the utility Arvika Fastighets AB has decided to wait with a rent increase for the company to rebuild the entrances and waste space. The increase, in the range of 43-69 SEK per month, would have taken effect on May 1. It is now being postponed until September 1, according to VF.
According to information on the company’s website, the company has just over 2,600 apartments.
