The police searched the home of a former Swedish politician.
During the operation, drugs and several thousand kronor in cash were found.
A relative of the politician was suspected of drug crimes and has now received a court order.
In November 2019, the police received calls from the public who observed a person at an address in Stockholm and contacted the police. When the patrol arrived at the scene, they suspected that the person, a relative of the politician, was under the influence of drugs, according to documents reported by the Sirén news agency.
During the visit, the police searched the family member’s jacket and found a large number of red line bags with white powder, which turned out to be 8.2 grams of cocaine. The wallet contained additional bags, as well as 5,000 SEK in cash. Due to the large number of bags, in addition to cash, the patrol suspected that the relative was using it himself, but was also selling the drug.
A home search was started and a large number of empty bags were found in the apartment in several different locations, with traces of previous contents.
A plate with a credit card and traces of a white powder were found in a drawer of the apartment. However, the amount was considered to be too small to be able to determine which substance it was.
Another 5,000 cash was found near the cash register.
The relative was convicted of drug offenses with a daily fine as a penalty. The suspicion of laundering could not be substantiated, so the relative was sentenced for possession and use.
Aftonbladet has sought out the top politician who refuses to comment.
