Hjalmar Ekdal, who was loaned to Sirius last season, leaves Hammarby without having played a minute for the club.
Mittbacken, whose contract expires this summer, has signed a four-year deal with rival Djurgården.
During the past season, Sirius had 26 appearances at Allsvenskan.
– It’s a mix of Djurgården excited and longed for me at the same time that I didn’t really see a future in Hammarby. It helped me look away and Djurgården has shown that they believe in me and that I will fit in well both in the team and in the game, says Ekdal on the club’s website.
The 22-year-old is the club’s sixth new acquisition ahead of the 2021 season.
