Her goal is to judge the men’s Allsvenskan, but tonight at 19:00 it was time for Tess Olofsson to start a Superettan match.
Akropolis hosted AFC Eskilstuna and, despite an early defeat, turned around in the 12th minute, between the 26th and 38th minutes.
The home team’s goal was scored by Oscar Pettersson, Marcus Haglind Sagré and Nicklas Maripuu, before Wilhelm Loeper reduced the penalty.
There were no more goals and Akropolis is down in the Allsvenskan qualifier, five points – but one more match played – than Jönköpings Södra.
“Don’t think about it so much”
But both before and after the match, much attention was focused on referee Olofsson, who talks about the feeling behind the final signal.
– It’s fun, but I don’t think about it much. You want to take the next step into the next series and try to reach the next goal: to become a regular at Superettan and then get a couple of matches at Allsvenskan, he tells Dplay and continues:
– Of course it goes very fast here with many technical and skilled players, but if I had to say hello to other referees, it would be to dare to invest, gather courage and work hard to reach the next level.
Olofsson has refereed matches in men’s division 1. In December, she became the first female referee to be admitted to Sweden’s highest referee training.
