Crisis agreements are activated

The three regions of Stockholm, Gävleborg and Västra Götaland have had their crisis situation agreements for VAT attention activated by SKR, at the request of the regions.

Therefore, the care staff can request emergency overtime. In addition to the regular salary, IVA staff receive so-called crisis compensation of 120-150 percent of salary every hour. In addition, the rules on ordinary working time are violated and staff can work more than 48 hours a week.

– It should be used with great restriction and for the shortest possible time because it is very difficult for our employees to work according to the terms of the crisis agreement, says Ulrika Sundquist, director of human resources in the Stockholm region, in a press release.

The new virus causes the R’s to increase

The reproduction rate of the coronavirus is increasing in various places in the UK. For the spread of the virus to decrease, the R number must be below 1. Prime Minister Boris Johnsson already warned on Saturday that the mutation of the most contagious virus could cause the R number to increase dramatically.

In several places in the UK, including London, the R number is 1.5, a sharp increase compared to what it looked like in early autumn.

– All regions have estimated an R number greater than 1.0, indicating that the pandemic is growing in much of the country, says Sir Patrick Vallance, medical adviser to the British government.

The two most infectious new virus mutations currently circulating in the UK are believed to be the underlying cause of the R number increase.

Double bids for congestion on holiday shopping

Christmas shopping is over. Crowds in various parts of the country were alerted, and at Drottninggatan in Stockholm, among other places, it is testified that many people did their Christmas shopping at the last second.

– Many people I have talked to feel that there are congestion problems, that it feels a bit like the coronavirus does not exist, says Expressen reporter Denise Sandström, who was at the Christmas store during the afternoon.

In Kungens kurva, on the outskirts of Stockholm, the situation was much calmer. There was hardly any congestion.

– Our maximum number according to the new directives is 2000 new visitors per hour, so we are well below what we think we can handle safely, Yvonne Arentoft tells Expressen.
