Here the winner is awakened by his colleague “You have won the Nobel Prize”

His wife Eva Meyersson Milgrom was about to have lunch with a colleague in Östermalmstorg, more than 800 km away, when she was able to see on her phone what was happening at their home outside their home in California.

– It was a wonderful scene, she says.

Swede Eva Meyersson Milgrom herself researches economics and sociology at Stanford University, but often travels to Sweden to meet children and grandchildren.

– It has been a busy day, many of those who have called, says Paul R Milgrom through a video call.

But to receive the Nobel Prize, he takes it easy and sees no major changes in his career after becoming a Nobel Prize winner.

– I will continue to give lectures and research, I think the biggest change will be that some people who refuse to do things in new ways will now pay more attention to me than before.

This year there won’t be a Nobel banquet in Stockholm for the Milgrom couple, but they’ve been there before. The first time 25 years ago, when they sat at the table and love arose in the Golden Room. A decade later, they returned to the Nobel Banquet and celebrated their 10th anniversary.

– They told me that “next time you can come back for the grand prize.” But I, as a game theorist, answered “I’ve already received the right award,” laughs Paul Milgrom.
