The spread of the crown in Sweden is now increasing in three regions.
The Swedish Public Health Agency highlights Uppsala in particular.
– There are many student parties at the moment, says Tegnell.
As Aftonbladet previously reported, the spread of the infection is now increasing in Stockholm. This is an obvious increase that has been going on for several weeks and is now at “quite high levels”, although it cannot be compared to the spring.
– It’s a real upturn that seems to be spreading in society, it’s not really focused anywhere, says state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell during today’s press conference at the Public Health Agency.
It is mainly among younger people where the infection increases the most. And the capital region is not alone in increasing the crown figures in Sweden. Skåne stands out, as does the student town of Uppsala.
– We learned the other day that Uppsala has been hit by a rapid increase. There it has risen successfully in a few weeks.

Party prices for infection plus
The reason for the increasing spread of the infection is, among other things, student parties, Tegnell says.
– We also receive some signs that more and more private parties have started to take place, around some of them we also see that the infection is spreading even more. Even if young people themselves are not greatly affected, they may be one of the reasons why we are more widely publicized, says Tegnell.
Will there be any new bans or restrictions on this?
– Student parties have a lot to do with information and understanding among students, that this is an autumn in which we have to live in a different way. This also applies to students, says Anders Tegnell.
Hockey players stand out
The Swedish Public Health Agency also sees a greater spread among athletes, especially within hockey teams. The same trend is also present in Finland. Together, the two countries are now looking at what causes the infection to spread among hockey players.
– It is not on the ice where the propagation takes place. We are looking at what this could be and how to avoid congestion in replacement booths and locker rooms to help the hockey team, says Tegnell.
