The number of Astra Zeneca owners has almost tripled during the year, although the price evolution is nowhere near that of Moderna and Biontech, which is also dealing with the virus, says Nicklas Andersson.
– In addition to this, Astra Zeneca is a stock with clear defensive qualities in an industry that is expected to be appreciated even more by investors in the future, he says.
Telia and Tele2 are also among Avanza’s top ten most purchased shares.
“Wild trade”
Norwegian, which is on the brink of bankruptcy, was the most-bought online stock among Nordnet’s Swedish savers in December. In an attempt to avoid bankruptcy, the company has applied for and been granted bankruptcy protection for Irish subsidiaries at the same time that an application for bankruptcy protection has been filed in Norway.
– Tours in the bombed action led to wild trade among savers. The news of bankruptcy protection sent stocks higher and attracted speculators to try to make money from sharp price rises. However, the turnout continues to drop more than 98 percent this year. And you have to keep in mind that the threat of bankruptcy remains and then the money invested is completely lost, says Frida Bratt.
“Buying Print After Douglas Big Sale”
Investment company Latour also ends up high on Nordnet’s private savers’ shopping list.
– Savers seized the opportunity to buy after the stock was supported as a result of the large Douglas family sale of shares in the company, a sale that in turn occurred after the stock traded at a sky-high premium says Frida Bratt.
At the top of Nordnet’s sales chart is Spotify, whose share rose sharply in early fall. But after the success and the price increase, the time has come to sell, says Frida Bratt.
One clear change from basically every other month of the year is that Evolution Gaming ends up on the sales chart, both on Avanza and Nordnet.
Take profit in evolution
– Savers have bought Evolution Gaming in the wake of the fantastic price increase. In early December, it was announced that Evolution will take a spot on the large-cap OMXS30 index, which means buying pressure on the stock when index funds have to buy. After the long rally, private savers choose to take home the profits, says Frida Bratt.
This month’s sales list in Avanza shows that many of the private savers took the opportunity to take home profits on price winners and favorite stocks. The best-selling stock was South Korean gaming company Gravity, followed by Enad Global 7, Recipharm and Tesla.
“Actions and winter sports”
– Trading activity remains high during December and private savers buy net shares for the tenth consecutive month. In other words, December lives up to the old saying that stocks are a winter sport. The trading year has offered a cloud buffet of unrest where most have now dissipated, most recently the Brexit deal, which supports a willingness to take risks in the market, says Nicklas Andersson.
