It started as a rumor on social media when an anonymous Twitter account wrote that Rydström would be leaving Sirius after the season for family reasons. Rydström has been traveling between Kalmar and Uppsala for a long time.
Rydström himself commented on the whole thing for the Aftonbladet newspaper and then said this:
– The ambition on Sirius’ side has been that we will live permanently in Uppsala and that has also been my ambition and that ambition remains. Since then, the well-being of my 16-year-old daughter – she is in her first year of high school – has had to control when and how and I struggle, like so many others, with the priorities between work and family and being a good coach, but perhaps especially a good father, Henrik Rydström wrote in an email to the newspaper.
It will be official soon
Later, both Rydström and sporting director Ola Andersson said that no decision had been made. But according to several independent SportExpressen sources, Rydström is now leaving Sirius. Sunday’s game against IFK Gothenburg will be his last as the club’s coach, something that will soon become official.
SportExpressen has contacted Sirius sporting director Ola Andersson, who does not want to comment on the information. SportExpressen has searched in vain for Rydström for a comment.
