Helsingborgs IF forced to change goalkeepers against Malmö FF

Anders Lindegaard has had a difficult season with several stints due to injury. He missed every match in rounds 12-22 at the Allsvenskan. In the comeback against Mjällby, the goalkeeper could not make the shots due to his thigh problems, the teammates had to solve it. In the next two games, against Häcken and Örebro, he did not play.

In the derby against Malmö FF, he came back again, but only managed just over half a game.

Trailing 1-0 in the 45th minute, Lindegaard returned to the field before the second half, but after just a few minutes he was forced to throw in the towel.

With rage and force, the goalkeeper threw his gloves into the substitute booth.

You can miss the fateful game

Reserve Alexander Nilsson replaced and kept a clean sheet in the second half, but that doesn’t help much. MFF won 1-0 and HIF is now in the relegation zone.

On Sunday, HIF will play a fateful match against IFK Gothenburg and Lindegaard’s involvement is highly uncertain.

– It’s the thigh again, unfortunately, says coach Olof Mellberg.

– We will see if he can join on Sunday, it is not possible to say now.
