In the spring of 2020, they purchased and analyzed the My Little Pony figures, as well as the company’s wireless headphones.
The products were analyzed in a laboratory and both were found to contain harmful substances.
The toy horses were found to have too high levels of phthalates. It is a plasticizer in plastic that is harmful to humans, including endocrine disruptors. In principle, the substance is prohibited in Sweden.
The headphones contained too high levels of short-chain chlorinated paraffin, which is suspected of being carcinogenic and also harmful to the environment. The substance is banned in Sweden.
The retired goods
Products were bought directly from a company in China and resold through Swedish e-commerce platforms.
According to the company, ten packages of toy horses and ten of the headphones will be resold to the customer.
The company claims that it has now recalled all products and notified affected customers. And the collaboration with the supplier ended.
The Swedish Chemicals Agency has submitted a report that the Malmö Public Prosecutor’s Office and the company are at risk of prosecution.
