The injured man arrived at the Helsingborg emergency room shortly after 5.30 p.m. So it was not clear what had really happened to him.
The police told Helsingborgs Dagblad that the man had been seriously injured. According to the internal commander, Joakim Ekstrand, the man had been stabbed.
– At first it was critical, then it was corrected, says Ekstrand to HD.
As the crime could not be ruled out, the police were dispatched, both to the hospital and to the place where the man is presumed injured, in Södra Stenbocksgatan.
Forensic technicians on site
The place, a hairdressing salon, was cordoned off and needed to be investigated by forensic technicians.
Police also worked to listen to the people who brought the man to the hospital and to gather information from witnesses.
According to the Skåne Region press office, the man was seriously injured. Region Skåne stated that he is 25 years old.
– We have exchanged a few words with him, but we have not conducted any regular questioning. But of course they want to do it as soon as possible, police spokeswoman Evelina Olsson tells TT.
The police were looking for witnesses
– At first, it was not clear what had happened, if it was a crime or some kind of accident. After that, in part we have contacted the care personnel, in part we have spoken with people who have to do with the case, to later arrive at this assessment that at the moment is classified as attempted homicide.
The police wanted to contact people who had made observations about the current hairdressing salon in Södra Stenbocksgatan at 5pm.
It was not clear at the initial stage whether the crime had been committed inside the barber shop or on the sidewalk adjacent to the premises.
During the night, no one had been arrested as a suspect on the spot.
