“I thought: One more time?”

Sabrina, 30, is the covid-19 patient that baffles Swedish care.
In May, he tested positive for the infection for the first time. Four months later, in September, Sabrina suddenly fell ill again.
– I have tested positive four times, but they lack antibodies, he says.
Sabrina’s medical history is a mystery to infectious disease doctors.
She tested positive for COVID-19 multiple times, four months apart.
She herself believes that she has been ill twice.
In that case, it is the first known case of reinfection in Sweden. Something that would be rare, but not exceptional: several similar stories have been reported from abroad so far.
It all started in April this spring.

Sabrina, 30, got sick this spring. Her throat ached and her sense of taste and smell disappeared.
Got sick in Valborg
Sabrina, who is a student, was going to celebrate Valborg with some friends when she was forced to cancel.
– I started to feel bad. I had no fever or cough, but my throat hurt, she says.
After a week, the sense of taste and smell disappeared, classic symptoms of covid-19. Then he began to feel unsteady and dizzy.
– I was playing with my son when I felt dizzy, he says.
Sabrina contacted care and went to the emergency room. The doctor took his blood pressure and oxygenation, which turned out to be low. Sabrina was asked to come back if it got worse.
After another couple of days, he had trouble breathing. He called the care guide who sent an ambulance for evaluation. He then received 91 percent oxygen and ended up in the infection room. In connection with that, he had to do a PCR test for covid-19.
“I didn’t feel bad”
The answer was positive.
– After that, I had no further contact with care that spring. I also gradually began to feel better, although it was several weeks before my sense of taste and smell returned.
– I didn’t feel bad at all, but went out with friends and family in Gotland. Everything was as usual, says Sabrina.
On August 25 he took an antibody test, mainly because he was curious about whether he was immune or not.
– It was negative, says Sabrina.

A few days later, the story took a new turn. On August 28, the son came home from preschool and was short of breath. A couple of days later, Sabrina got sick too.
– I recognized the symptoms of last spring and thought: have I had it again?
The course of the illness, the sore throat, the dizziness, everything was familiar.
Screamed at
Sabrina contacted the health service again and did a new covid-19 test.
Once again, the message was positive.
Sabrina discussed the result with a person in the test response unit on the phone and mentioned in passing that most things were felt when she got sick this spring.
The person on the phone nodded.
“Wait, what did you say?” I’ll call you, ”he said and hung up.
Sabrina was asked to do a new PCR test to make sure she really had COVID-19.
Sick all the time?
Today, several weeks later, he has obtained a total of four positive PCR tests and will be taking additional samples.
The dizziness still persists and Sabrina doesn’t know how to behave. Is it contagious or not?
– So far I have been in quarantine, he says.
The Swedish Public Health Agency has been notified. Sabrina herself sent an email to Anders Tegnell, who promised to refer her case.
– You may have been sick all the time, for several months. But it didn’t feel like that this summer. I felt like I got sick twice, he says.
